INFORMATION SHEET

 

WEIGH-INS: CIF + 2 lb growth allowance + 1 lb extra-3 pound allowance Friday, 1 additional pound Saturday

COACHES MEETING: Friday, January 5th, 2024, 8:00 am – K01     

 

WRESTLING:

First session Friday, January 5th - 9:30 AM Wrestling Starts

 

Second session Saturday, January 6th  - 9:00 AM Wrestling Starts

 

        

Third Session Saturday, January 6th - 5:00 PM, South Gym-CHAMPIONSHIP FINALS

 

FINALS: The order of the finals matches will be determined by the tournament staff.

 

AWARDS: There will be individual medals through eighth place; team trophies first through third; Paul Sanchez Most Outstanding; Outstanding Light Weight, 103-140; Outstanding Heavy Weight, 145-275; individual plaque for most pins in least amount of time, and Pursuing Victory with Honor team award.

 

Wrestlers must be in wrestling uniform, including no hats, to accept their awards.

 

ROUNDS: Three two (2) minute rounds -- All Championship matches & 1-2-2 Consolation.

 

FIRST AID: We will have trainers on duty in both gyms.

 

FOOD: There will be a snack bar open during the tournament. Coolers and over sized food containers will not be allowed inside the gym. 

 

ADMISSION: There will be an admission charge for each session of the tournament:

Friday Morning Session and Saturday Morning Sessions (each):

Adults: $11.00 Friday & $11.00 Saturday

Seniors: $6.00 Friday & $6.00 Saturday

Students (W/SB cards): $4.00 Friday & $4.00 Saturday

 

Finals: $6.00

STAGING: Wrestlers will be called straight to mat by the announcer. Tournament will be on Flo Arena with updated mat assignments and bout numbers. 

Weight Classes in South gym and North gym will be determined and announced at Coaches Meeting.

 

CHECK SCALE: Wrestlers can check weight in south gym behind the curtain – only at the beginning of quarter-finals. Must check weight in singlet!

 

ANKLE/WRIST BANDS: Two coaches bands (yellow) provided – see head table for more bands. If your wrestler needs an additional band (blue) for size, see gate person.

 

NO PHOTOGRAPHERS/MAT MAIDS ON THE MATS. COACHES AND WRESTLERS ONLY

RV’s – Please park in South Lot!!! 

GENERAL RULES

All matches in the championship bracket are six minutes in duration, divided into three periods of two minutes each. Consolation matches will be five minutes in length.

A fall, at any time, terminates the match. A wrestler scores a fall when the referee is able to see that both shoulders of the defensive wrestler are held to the mat simultaneously for a period of two seconds.

 

Competition is divided into fourteen weight classes as follows: 106, 113, 120, 126, 132, 138, 145, 152, 160, 170, 182, 195, 220 and 285.
